Work-Life Balance

Years ago when I was doing a lot of  Employee Consulting I often did wellness training on the topic of Work- Life Balance. Then and now many employees, who work full time, find it difficult to find a healthy balance.

We all know people who are, or maybe you consider yourself to be a “workaholic “.  High-level corporate jobs often encourage long hours for career advancement.   Some lower-wage workers hold two jobs just to cover basic expenses.

Health can begin to suffer when a person is out of balance.  Sleep is usually the first thing to go, stress prevents a good night sleep. Long term lack of adequate sleep, as we are aware, then leads to a host of psychological and physical issues.

Often, we overcommit ourselves and then lack the time needed to unwind and relax.  Occasionally, it’s important to pause and reassess your priorities.  Yes, be realistic you may have to give up some things to find balance, after all there are only 24 hours in a day.  I have worked with clients who are not sleeping well, and upon further discussion I learn they respond to texts and emails during the night.  We need to shut off from work, leave the phone off while sleeping.  The world will still be spinning in the morning.

Work-life balance means building a lifestyle that is both rewarding and sustainable.

P.S. And you wonder why I have not posted in a few years…..call me and I shall share.

Dear Clients and Colleagues -

After many rewarding years serving the community in Maryland and Delaware, I have decided to retire. Working with you, my clients and colleagues, over the past decades has been an incredibly meaningful and fulfilling part of my life.

As of September 9, 2026 I will no longer be taking new clients. My Delaware practice will officially close on September 30, 2026. My Maryland practice will close on December 4, 2026. Until then, I will continue to provide care and support as usual, and am committed to making this transition as smooth as possible for everyone involved. Requests for medical records may be sent to lmgrande63@gmail.com.

I want to express my deepest gratitude for the trust you have placed in me and for allowing me to be a part of your journey. It has been an honor and a privilege to do this work with you.

Best regards,

Linda
